We have a variety of services and tools available to you to facilitate working at home and accessing resources remotely. This article serves as a landing point to link out to our various articles on these services and tools.
- Email: You can access your email offsite using a variety of methods.
- Webmail: Access to webmail instructions are available here.
- Devices: Instructions on how to add Michener Email to your mobile device or Outlook on your desktop are available here.
- Document Storage
- OneDrive: You are entitled to 1TB of personal document storage via OneDrive. Instructions on how to access OneDrive are available here.
- SharePoint: If your department has a SharePoint site already created, please utilize it for collaborating on documents. If you would like to request a SharePoint site to be created for you, please email helpdesk@michener.ca to open a ticket.
- Communication & Meeting Tools
- Teams: Teams is great for chatting with your teammates and other St. Patrick Campus co-workers.
- Great for collaborating on documents, and can also be used for meetings.
- Teams is available for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, so you can always stay in touch. Please download Teams here.
- We recommend that you utilize Teams for internal Michener meetings instead of Zoom.
- Instructions on basic Teams usage are available here.
- Zoom: Zoom is great for remote meetings for educational purposes, such as remote classes.
- You can meet with up to 300 attendees and one presenter, for a total of 301 total participants.
- It also includes key meeting features such as a phone number to allow those without a headset or smartphone to call in using a traditional phone.
- If you would like a Zoom account, please contact the Helpdesk by emailing helpdesk@michener.ca.
- Zoom is approved for education meetings only.
- Please avoid using Mitel Conferencing if possible, we have very limited capacity on this service and utilizing it ties up our available phone lines.
- Remote Desktop:
- Can be utilized to access your fileshares such as the Y: Drive and P: Drive but please exhaust all the options above as we have limited bandwidth for this service.

- Microsoft Office: All Staff & Faculty are entitled to Microsoft Office.
- You can have up to five installations of Microsoft Office for macOS or Windows on computers or mobile devices.
