What is MDM?
Mobile Device Management (MDM) is a security and management solution that allows organizations to enforce policies, streamline access, and provide secure functionality across devices. With Intune MDM, Michener users can now log in with their M365 credentials, gaining access to enhanced features like streamlined printing, automatic app updates, and local OneDrive access. This ensures a seamless and more secure user experience, enabling efficient collaboration while maintaining compliance with organizational security standards.
You will receive an email communication with instructions when it's time to enroll your device in MDM. In the meantime, you can follow the steps below to prepare:
Steps to Prepare
1. Automatic Migration of P: Drive Data
If you store files in your P: Drive, your data will automatically be migrated to your Michener OneDrive in advance of your enrollment appointment.
Please be aware that your P: Drive contents will not synchronize to OneDrive after this point. While your P: Drive will no longer be accessible from your primary device, as we transition it will still be accessible in locations such as Remote Desktop and Shared PCs.
Please do not save new information to your P: Drive from those locations. If you are utilizing Shared PCs or Remote Desktop, please manually copy all new information, files and changes to your OneDrive.

2. Back Up Your Local Data
For any data not located on your P: Drive such as data stored locally on a Michener laptop, please ensure all important files are copied from your profile into your Michener OneDrive account, including:

- Any files located on your laptop's C: Drive (Including files on the Desktop, files in Documents, Pictures or any other location on your local computer)
- Any additional folders used by your work applications
- Any other content not stored on your P: Drive

⚠ Important: Files left on your local device may be lost after enrollment, so ensure everything is backed up before your appointment.
3. Export Web Browser Contents
Before enrollment, please back up/export your web browser contents. These can be imported back once you sign in with your Michener account.
The following items will be backed up:
- Bookmarks
- History
- Passwords
- Profile Settings (this may vary from web browser to web browser)
To do so, please use the following instructions, based on your web browser.

- Firefox - How to Export your Passwords
- Firefox - How to Export your Bookmarks
- Edge - How to Export Bookmarks and Passwords
Once the following items are backup you can upload them to OneDrive for safekeeping.
Note: If you have your own Google, Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge account signed in, this should be automatically done for you. Please double-check that you are logged in with the correct account, if possible.
Note: Each web browser may synchronize/back-up different things than one another.
Please notify Helpdesk before or during your scheduled appointment if you have any troubles or issues
4. Shared Workstations - Log Out / Reboot
If you use any other computers (i.e. Hoteling, shared office workstations, lab computers, etc.) with your Michener credentials, please ensure you log out and/or reboot them before continuing use.
This helps apply any recent updates or changes to your profile and ensures a smooth experience across devices.
